BILL BLASS FW2007 RUNWAY NAVY SEQUIN COCKTAIL DRESS
BILL BLASS FW2007 RUNWAY NAVY SEQUIN COCKTAIL DRESS
This stunning number is by Michele Vollbracht for Bill Blass FW 2007. The reviews of the collection were focused on these stunning sequin, Norman Norrell inspired cocktail dresses, and gowns. Maddy from Euphoria tried on a purple Norman Norrell in episode 6 of season 2.
"Vollbracht's best effort, though, was a series of slithery mermaid dresses, done according to a technique borrowed from the great American master Norman Norell, who made a hit with his liquid sequined mermaids in the fifties (worn to memorable effect by Marilyn Monroe). Literally, thousands of sequins were sewn into place, by hand, à la Norell. The sterling level of craftsmanship really showed." By Laird Borrelli-Persson
This dress also reminds me of Jane Fonda's Iconic Norrell gown in the movie Klute.
There are tons of beautiful sequins handsewn onto a fine jersey. There is a zipper and hook closure down the back. The dress is fully lined in a super soft lining, I believe it is silk but there are not composition tags to verify.
Great pre-owned condition. There are 5 sequins missing on the right cuff and one sequin next to the zipper which is not noticeable at all, otherwise practically perfect.
Tag size 8.
