**This item is at the tailor to repair a fallen hem and will not be shipped until July 1st, 2022. (7/1/22)**

I had to have this after I saw Lady Gaga in Christopher John Rogers at the Grammys and Adele on the cover of Vogue in that stunning Valentino Haute Couture gown. This piece is by Arnold Scaasi from his “Boutique” ready-to-wear line. The dress is made of beautiful green silk. The bodice is made up of several angled pleats which form into a sweetheart neckline and off-shoulder sleeves. The bottom of the skirt has wide pleats that fall beneath the slight billowed portion of the skirt. There is built-in tulle to add fullness to the skirt. I am showing it here with and without an added wedding gown crinoline.

*added crinoline not included, only for photo example*

Sold at Saks Fifth Avenue

Tag size 10.

Bust 35"

Good vintage condition. There is moderate light water staining near the hem of the skirt. There is some perspiration staining under the arm, it is covered by the pleated bodice.

About the designer: Arnold Scaasi

In 1956 Scaasi designed his first ready-to-wear collection which was received as a success. In 1964 he opened his made-to-order American couture salon producing extravagant custom-made clothing for many of the country’s most famous women, including Barbara Streisand who wore that iconic black and crystal lace tunic and pant set to accept her Oscar for Funny Girl in 1969.

The Scaasi Boutique label was started in 1984. This line was top-quality ready-to-wear and was beautifully made and quite expensive.

“I am not a minimalist designer! Clothes with some adornment are more interesting to look at and more fun to wear.” Scaasi
